We all know that kids can't sit still without any form of entertainment. While waiting to be seated in our favorite restaurant, I took the opportunity to review my 3-year old's familiarity with colors.
Me: "Nemo, what is the color of my shirt?"
Nemo: "Brown" (Correct!)
Me: "What color is your shirt?"
Nemo: "Pink!" (Right!)
Me: "What color are my shoes?"
Nemo: "Black" (Exactamento!)
Me: "How about your hair?"
Nemo: "Light brown!" (She distinguishes light and dark colors at three)
Me: "Your bag?"
Nemo: "Red!!" (Yup, yup!!)
Me: "How about Tita Myla's teeth?" (My cousin flashed her sweetest smile)
Nemo: "YELLOW!!!!"
I've never seen a smile fade that fast. The transformation was amazing. The next thing I know, my cousin was blushing like anything. Her face was so red!
It took us a few seconds in silence before we all started laughing.
Indeed, kids say the darndest things(and yes, they do not lie). ;)
This reminds me of a TV commercial. Hehe. Kids are really fun to talk with.
ReplyDeleteMommy Maye
Kids do say the best things at times and yes (unless they want something) they are usually truthful too. They don't understand that what they are saying may hurt someone but as they grow up they learn this
ReplyDeletewhen kids say something nasty, it is alright or funny. but when oldies say same thing, that person has a tendency to be offended.
ReplyDeleteCute cute! How innocent kids are right?
ReplyDeletehehehe, is it true? kulit
ReplyDeleteFunny! Hahahah! At least, you know that Nemo knows colors. haha!
ReplyDeleteMoral of the story: Whenever you ask a kid some questions, be prepared for the answers for they could definitely be outright candid and brutally honest. So be careful what you ask them. Lol!
ReplyDeleteang laki ng tawa ko! smart girl hahaha
ReplyDeleteHahaha! So Cute. Kids never lie! :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha I laughed out loud! OMG! Kawawa naman yung cousin mo. Buti na lang kids are cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is amusing! This is also the reason why I enjoy being in the midst of my nephews and niece :)
ReplyDeleteHaha. My son is like that, too. He described somebody else's teeth as yellow. Sabi ko na lang, yellow teeth are stronger...
ReplyDeletesoooo cute.....yayyy im so afraid na kase im wearing braces mamaya sabihin sa akin i have pink teeth...kaloka...
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love quizzing my 4-year old brother about colors too.

Indeed! so never tempt them to say things we don't like to hear... like teasing them or asking them if we are beautiful... we might not like their answer!
ReplyDeletehahahhahaha. i agree that they can be brutally honest.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I wouldn't dare put that question to my children. I may be in need of whitening something for my teeth.
ReplyDeleteKids don't lie. Truth hurts sometimes haha. That situation/conversation you posted above seems like a good line or script for dentist or other teeth whitening or products endorsements hehe.
ReplyDeleteYou had me laughing too... Your kid has a keen sense for color and yep, they don't lie. Awesome! :-)
ReplyDeleteEliz

ReplyDeleteHahahaha cute! :D
ReplyDeleteLOL! This reminded me of the time I was teaching my 3 yo daughter how to enunciate a word and asked that she watch my mouth carefully. She did pay attention and looked intently at how I was moving my lips, then exclaimed, "Mama, you have a gap in your teeth. Yup, you have a small gap right there!" :P Kids talaga!
ReplyDeleteKids say the darnest things. So adorably honest!
ReplyDeleteHehehe! That's so funny! Teeth yellow! My 2yo old son would have answered the same too if asked. :)
ReplyDeleteahahaha...amusing nemo
ReplyDeletei remember a TV ad like that
hahahaha! natawa naman ako... cant wait for the actual talking period of my tot.... right now, with his few words he's being funny already... :D i used to hate kids... but now.. i want them around always!!! :D
ReplyDeletehahah! very honest kid and he got me wowing for being able to memorize the colors. I'm inspired for my son.
ReplyDeleteOMG. So cute! I can actually imagine it as you recount the story.
ReplyDeleteKakatuwa. Just like our son, Matt. He knows the colors too at age of two but sometimes, he will intentionally tell us the wrong color and when we asked him again he will say the right one.
ReplyDeletehahahaha.. funny naman.. but seriously your kid is doing good with colors...
ReplyDeletelol! that must have been hilarious! i remember something similar that happened to us when my boys were younger. hehe!
ReplyDeleteHAha.. that must be really funny. It's true that kids are blatantly honest.
ReplyDeleteI love that kids are still honest. I frighten my kids with my yellow teeth. This is what happens to people who eat candy and don't brush. Now, they brush a lot.
ReplyDeletehahahaha!!! that was so funny!
ReplyDeleteIt's really fun talking to kids. You never know what they're going to say :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha yellow! hmm mine too it's yellowish since I was young and until now I never had found any magical paste to make it like soaked with an ariel or a tide powder.
ReplyDeleteAray ako! funny!
ReplyDeleteGood use of time - teaching your child, fun too.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! Hahaha. Kids are sure so honest!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA!!!!! Honesty is the best policy.
ReplyDeleteHaha but sometimes, the truth hurts :).
DeleteKIDS! HAHAHA they're lovely and so adorable.
ReplyDeletehaha! kids tend to be funny without even trying. :)
ReplyDeleteAko din yellow, it's because of my braces' rubber bands haha!
ReplyDeleteChan
My son answered the same thing when his aunt asked him that! And my sister defended herself to the child and told him that yellow teeth is healthy. Which is what dentists say actually. haha! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou really cannot go wrong with a kid's observation.
